Attorney Francis X. Bruton ("F.X.") has practiced law for over 23 years, with 18 of those years having been within the state of New Hampshire. Prior to practicing in New Hampshire, Attorney Bruton practiced for 5 years in Cambridge, Massachusetts as General Counsel to an environmental consulting firm. Attorney Bruton was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1989, and to the New Hampshire Bar in 1992.
Attorney Bruton's practice consists of representing many of the major developers located within New Hampshire Seacoast. Attorney Bruton's most recent New Hampshire Supreme Court case, Churchill Realty Trust v. City of Dover Zoning Board of Adjustment, 156 NH 668 (2008), is the first reported case interpreting zoning authority amongst abutting municipalities.
Attorney Bruton resides in the city of Dover with his wife, Cathy, and their three children. He serves his community by serving as President of the Pastoral Council of his church and President of the Board of Directors of My Friend's Place, a homeless shelter located within Strafford County. Attorney Bruton is a member of the State and Federal courts in NH and MA. In addition, Attorney Bruton is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association Board of Governors and serves as Treasurer of the Strafford County Bar Association.
